This project needs thinking about over the three weeks of the semester.
Stages
A. Pick a novel in the library. It must be of reasonable literary merit. (i.e. not Harry Potter, Twilight, Gossip Girls, etc)
B. Read it.
C. Write this paper:
1. Pick a juicy paragraph in the novel -- in other words, one that you think shows some major ideas in the novel
2. Type it out (do NOT photocopy it, or copy and paste it from an e-text; the act of typing it will really help you with this assignment).
3. Write a 3-paragraph paper (each paragraph should be at least half a page, usual font and spacing). Follow these instructions exactly:
Para. 1. What happens in the paragraph, and what is its context?
Paras. 2/3 Pick two major/important themes in the paragraph, explain them, and relate to other passages in the novel
